Paper Miniatures - New Voidships (Imperials and Orks)

Those Battlefleet Gothic proxies I shared in my last post are nice, but they're not really geared towards Rogue Trader games. Using those minis as a template, I've started creating a set of voidship paper miniatures specifically for Rogue Trader. This first set contains as many of the available hulls from the current Rogue Trader books as I could find (I was able to do a great deal of different voidships but not all of them) plus some Orks for them to fight, since there weren't any Orks in the original BFG set for some weird reason. I'm going to slowly add more voidships as I finish them, including the missing Imperial hulls if I can find them. Some of the ships have iffy pictures and I might make new minis for them if I find better pictures. I'm not going to scan my own books because they're too pretty and I don't want to wreck them, so it's internet or nothing.

There's some great pictures of decorative Rogue Traderized hulls in the adventure Lure of the Expanse that I was able to get good quality pictures of, so I tossed those in as alternates on the same pages as their parent ship. These alternate hulls would make great PC vessels. If your players use a Dauntless in particular, you are in luck.

These are constructed the same way as the earlier BFG ones, so see that post for instructions. Edit: Or if you prefer the newer, more elaborate instructions those are found here. If you're going to be using the larger ships (like the Repulsive Grand Cruiser) I'd recommend using cardstock for them. Everything up to Cruiser works great with normal paper though, just make sure not to use too much glue or they'll warp (but don't use too little glue or they won't hold. You have to use exactly the right amount of glue. Helpful, right?)

At any rate, here are the miniature templates. As usual they're in Photoshop and PNG formats.

Paper Miniatures - Found Voidships

Paper miniatures of PCs are nice, but what you really need minis for in Rogue Trader is voidship combat. These miniatures weren't created by me, although I don't know the name of who did. All I did was translate the file names into English.

To make these, cut along the outside black lines, but none of the interior black lines on the semi-circles. Fold out the semi-circles so that together they form a circular base, and glue the two sides of the voidship together. You'll notice the lines on the paper base indicate the firing arcs of the voidship's weapons.

I have compiled two sets. One contains all the ships I know have stats in Rogue Trader and a few other pages I feel are appropriate for a Rogue Trader game. For completionists, I also included a file containing every voidship I have, which has Space Marines and Tyranids and such.

These are all PDFs. Don't blame me, I didn't make 'em (although their quality, and complete lack of Orks, is making me want to rip off their style and make some of my own).
(I'm leaving this post for archival purposes but due to the fact that my own collection of ships is now larger than this set, and since I didn't create the set in the first place, I'm not going to host it here anymore. I was never able to figure out who created them to properly credit them anyhow.)

Paper Miniatures - Rogue Trader PCs

Hey it's me, this guy you don't know. In order to be able to properly test the layout for this new blog I have to post something, so here are some paper miniatures I made recently. These two sheets contain characters largely intended to represent PCs but I'm sure they'd be just as good for a large number of NPCs.

Basically what you do is print them out (if your printer asks you if you want to shrink to fit the page and warns you of clipping don't, there's lots and lots of bleed so you'll be fine), cut on the black lines and fold on the faint grey ones. When properly folded they should form a triangle. At that point you apply a little bit of paper glue to the two bottom pieces and stick them together.

If you have photoshop, you're probably better off with the PSD files. For the rest of you luddites, I also included them as PNGs whose quality I will not vouch for.
